Adelaide Car Club is an approved club for the South Australian Club Registration scheme.
Also known as historic or conditional registration, the scheme allows for reduced registration fees for historic vehicles, left hand drive vehicles and street rods. Many insurance companies also offer reduced premiums for vehicles registered under this scheme.
Vehicles on club registration are limited to 90 days per year of use.
There are three classes of vehicle eligible for club registration.
1. Historic: 30 years old or more. This is measured from January 1 of the year of manufacture.
2. Left hand drive: 30 years old or more and has the steering wheel on the left
3. Street rod: A modified vehicle with a body and frame built before 1949, or a replica of such a vehicle
Yes, we can do club rego for your bike, truck or bus as well as your car – anything that qualifies for the scheme.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Before you meet with the club, make sure you have current club membership and all of the vehicle details required for the application:
Make, model, year of manufacture
Driver’s licence number
Exemption certificates (where applicable, eg LHD and Street Rod vehicles)
Your Adelaide Car Club membership card (you can download this from your profile)
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure the vehicle meets the criteria and is roadworthy and has appropriate exemptions in place as required.
If your vehicle already has club registration with a logbook issued by another club, the old logbook must be cancelled by the issuing club before a new one can be issued.
You may have as many vehicles as you like on club registration.
You must fill out the logbook before driving the vehicle each day. There is no limit to the number or length of journeys permitted on each day. A vehicle on club registration may only be driven on 90 days per year.
You must maintain your club membership at all times for the club registration to be valid.
Club registration is not transferrable upon the sale of the vehicle.
A vehicle may only have one logbook associated with its club registration at a time. If a logbook has previously been issued by another club, it must be cancelled by the issuing club before a new logbook can be issued.
Vehicle owners are bound by the Code of Conduct. Ensure you have read and understood your responsibilities as penalties apply for breaches.
